Who Knew? Q&A with John: Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff (and Identify What Isn’t!)

Welcome to Who Knew? A monthly Q&A with John, our Australian General Manager.

John writes: “In this blog, I seek to provide information our MagicDichol® Family will find interesting. Sometimes this is a response to a question from one of you, and sometimes it is just information I’m excited to share. I invite you to join me each month, and feel free to send your questions to me at [email protected]

G’Day,

In 1997, a psychotherapist named Richard Carlson published a book called Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff…and It’s All Small Stuff. It quickly became one of the bestsellers of all time, selling millions of copies in many languages.

Whether you read the book or not, Carlson’s pithy articulation of this timeless idea is worth remembering. Put another way, we oughtn’t spend our time (our most valuable and least renewable resource) on things that don’t matter.

Now, there may be things that don’t matter but which you are absolutely obligated to do. In these cases, spend as little time and worry on them as possible.

Casting my aging mind back to the ’60s and ’70s, there was a singer called Ricky Nelson who wrote the lyric “you can’t please everyone, so you gotta please yourself”: a sentiment which resonates with my long-held view that you don’t save a drowning friend by giving them your life jacket. If we truly want to help others, we need to be present and able.

So, serving our own well-being should be a priority. Not at all “small stuff”!

The well-being priorities? Exercise. Nutrition. NANO SOMA®. Meditation. Rest. Family.

If we give lesser things more time and energy that they deserve, they’re no longer lesser things.  And then, sadly, because we’ve made them important things, our health, our family and our true commitments become less important in our lives as a result.

When we daily practice balance in our own life, our health lifts, as does the general well-being of those around us.

One of the most remarkable ways of attaining physical balance in our bodies (and thus, it can be argued, our mind) is the daily use of NANO SOMA. It profoundly re-balances our health in ways we never imagined.
