With aging populations worldwide and increased technological advances, many health and wellness industries are promising not just an increased lifespan – but an increased health span. Consequently, health experts and scientists are exploring the role of our nutrition, vitamins, and supplements – such as Vitamin D – on our health and longevity.
One such study, called the VITAL study, was a large-scale, government-backed clinical trial which investigated the role of Vitamin D and omega‑3s in disease prevention and aging.
And while the study found no significant reduction in overall cancer or heart disease risks among the general population, there were important subgroup findings. Notably, Vitamin D supplementation appeared to slow cellular aging, as measured by telomere length (considered by some as DNA’s biological clock). According to their results, this prompted a potential three-year advantage for those taking Vitamin D compared to the placebo.
This subtle yet important finding underlines Vitamin D’s critical role in the body’s defense and repair mechanisms.
But it also raises a bigger question: Are we thinking too small when we only supplement Vitamin D?
Beyond Supplementation: Activating vs. Regulating the Vitamin D Receptor
As Dr. Roland Hillermann, MagicDichol®’s Chief Medical Specialist, recently mentioned in his monthly blog series, NANO SOMA® modulates the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR). This is a crucial difference to normal Vitamin D supplementation, as was implemented in the VITAL study, because typical Vitamin D supplementation can only activate the VDR – an outcome which has considerable limitations for our health.
The Limits to Vitamin D Supplementation – Activates the VDR
-
Single-Directional Action: Vitamin D binds to the VDR and activates it, serving as a one-way signal.
-
No Modulation Capability: It cannot fine-tune or turn the receptor “down” or “off,” potentially
leading to overstimulation, such as with autoimmune issues. -
Dependent on Dosage: Its efficacy is strongly tied to the correct intake level, where too much or too
little can disrupt balance. -
Limited Scope: Vitamin D supplements only affect pathways that are positively activated by the VDR; it
cannot suppress overactivity or adjust receptor sensitivity. -
Static Influence: Vitamin D is not responsive to the body’s dynamic needs – it simply activates the
receptor regardless of context.
Metadichol® / NANO SOMA® – Modulates the VDR
-
Bidirectional Regulation: Metadichol® (in NANO SOMA) binds to the VDR and can activate, suppress, or even shut it down depending on the body’s needs, allowing the ideal quantity of Vitamin D to be expressed for your body.
-
Acts as an Adaptogen:It adjusts its function to support balance and homeostasis, enhancing biological precision and safety, and supporting balanced immune function and healthy genetic expression.*
-
Increased Cellular Reach: Due to its nano-formulation (<60 nm), it penetrates cells –including the nucleus – more effectively than traditional supplements, leading to broader systemic support.*
This makes the implications of the VITAL study even more exciting, because NANO SOMA® takes the benefits of Vitamin D supplementation and enhances them, while providing the extra support, precision and safety of the ability to down-regulate or suppress the VDR if it becomes overactive – as we see occur in autoimmune issues.
A Real Result from Our Community
Given the critical role of Vitamin D in our health and well-being, we receive many testimonials from NANO SOMA® users who comment on the effect that taking NANO SOMA has had on their Vitamin D. Nancy, a nurse and NANO SOMA user, shares:
“While I was skeptical at first, I have become a believer in this product. Being a nurse, I know how important Vitamin D is to all of us, and I was taking about 10,000 mg daily. My bone density still wasn’t improving. However, since adding NANO SOMA® to my regimen, it has! I’ve also been able to reduce the amount of Vitamin D that I am taking by 1/3, and my Vitamin D level is still close to 100.”
